It looks like I might just be having me some fun watching movies in the coming months. I've got "The Spirit" to look forward to. While I'm not a giant fan of Frank Miller's work, I do respect his ability and am looking forward to, what I expect to be, a powerful and creative take on one of my favorite comic book characters.
It's also been mentioned that Miller is looking at doing a new "Flash Gordon" movies. Another of my all-time favorite characters. This time originating in comic strip form as opposed to comic book form. (Both characters originally appeared in newspapers.) Again, I know that Miller will take the work seriously and while I'm sure I'd do it differently (better), I trust he'll make it good. Possibly great. No throw-away films here, either.
While we're talking about my geek-loves, Sherlock Holmes starring Robert D. is filming. While it may be a bit hard to imagine Downey as Holmes I have no doubt that he'll do a fantastic job.
... I wonder if Miller and Downey would consider doing a Doc Savage film? That could be very, very cool.
Pulp's rule.

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has died. She was seventy-six years old. I remember meeting/seeing Ms. Barrett-Roddenberry in 1993. She was a very kind, open and friendly woman. Tall as I remember. At least she's finally with Mister Gene Roddenberry who died in 1991. Seventeen years is a long time to wait.
