Talking books.
Okay. I've officially given up reading "Twilight" for the time being. I just can't get into it. 50% of the book, a full half of each and every page is devoted to describing and re-describing how beautiful the male lead character is. Edward is cute. I get it. He's beautiful and ethereal and so super keen. Got it already! Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for beautiful, studly heroes. That's all well and good but I GOT IT ALREADY! That would be bad enough but half way through the book, that's ALL that's happened. I've been told again and again and again how beautiful Edward is. Nothing at all else has happened. I'm sure that the book gets really, really good but try as I might I find myself having to force myself to read the book. Most books I can get into. Most books I read I actually look forward to reading. Sometimes several hours a night. I love books. I love books almost more than anything else. Boredom = pain and (I hate to say this about what I am SURE must be a wonderful series of books based upon all the fervor that surrounds it ...) "Twilight" hurts. Ouch. Maybe I'm just not in the "mood" right now? I'll try again later. Right now ... I need me some Jack Reacher or maybe some Repairman Jack or even a little Charlie Parker? Why do I feel bad because I don't like this book? I didn't feel bad because I had to stop reading the latest "Maximum Ride" book (Waaay too preachy.). I just felt let down that I didn't get another good, fun book and instead got the writer's political manifesto. Such is life. Go for it! Just don't expect me to come along for the ride. (I'm still talking "Maximum Ride" here.)
Who's having fun? Today might just be a fantastic day. Ya' never know and I'm hoping.

Manga Update:
The editor of Manga Quake over at Future Quake contacted me and has accepted my story. (Aren't you thrilled beyond words?) The story is a Knight-Wolf tale titled "Hero at Large" (You'll love it.) and should be out ... sometime soon I suppose. So all you UKers out there keep an eye out for it. I'm sure all you non-UKers will be able to purchase it online if you can't find it locally.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled whatever.
